Dhiya, The Surfshaper
This project showcases a unique individual, Dhiya, a part-time educator who travels back and forth multiple times a month in and out of Johor Bahru to cultivate and grow a small yet thriving community of surfers & shapers. His drive and the vision he sees for this community are two of the many pillars shaping his world view and morals.
My final year project was back at the LASALLE College of The Arts. This documentary project took roughly 5 months to make. Due to various school restrictions and policies, we had to go guerrilla with zero funding and personal equipment to shoot this project.
